What is Voqusa — Video Transcript & Swipe File?

The Voqusa Chrome extension is a cross-platform video transcript and swipe-file tool that works on all seven major social-video platforms from a single install. Right-click any supported video link — or open the extension popup — and Voqusa's AI extracts the speech and returns a clean, accurate transcript directly in your browser sidebar. Transcripts are stored in your personal swipe library, synced across devices when you sign in, and searchable so you can retrieve any quote from any video you have ever transcribed.

How to Install

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store listing for Voqusa — Video Transcript & Swipe File (link above).
  2. Click Add to Chrome, then Add extension in the confirmation dialog. Chrome installs the extension in about five seconds.
  3. Pin the Voqusa icon to your toolbar by clicking the puzzle-piece icon in Chrome and selecting the pin next to Voqusa.
  4. Click the Voqusa icon. On your first open you will receive three free transcript credits — no account required to use them.

How to Use

  1. Navigate to any supported video on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or Pinterest.
  2. Right-click the video (or the video link in a feed) and choose Transcribe with Voqusa from the context menu. Alternatively, open the Voqusa popup and paste the video URL.
  3. Wait two to twenty seconds depending on video length. The transcript appears in the sidebar with full punctuation and paragraph breaks.
  4. Use the Copy button to paste the text anywhere, or click Add to Swipe File to save it to your personal library for later reference.
  5. To translate, click the Translate dropdown in the sidebar and pick any of the 14 supported output languages. Translation is free and instant.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Voqusa extension work on private or age-restricted videos?

No. The extension transcribes only publicly accessible videos. Age-restricted YouTube videos require you to be signed in to YouTube in the same browser session; even then, transcription depends on whether Voqusa can extract the audio stream. Private Instagram Reels, locked LinkedIn posts, and TikTok videos from private accounts cannot be transcribed.

How many free transcripts do I get?

Every new install receives three free transcript credits, each covering up to one minute of video. Credits are tied to your device and do not expire. Once they are used, you can sign in with a Voqusa account to access any credits you have already purchased at voqusa.com, or buy a new credit pack directly from the extension popup.

Does the extension send video data to Voqusa's servers?

The extension sends only the public video URL and your device ID (an anonymous UUID generated at install time) to Voqusa's transcription API. No video file is uploaded from your machine. Voqusa's servers retrieve the public video stream, run AI speech-to-text, and return the transcript text. Voqusa does not store transcripts from anonymous sessions after the session ends. Signed-in users can delete their history from the Voqusa dashboard at any time.

The context menu does not appear when I right-click. What should I do?

Context-menu entries only appear when you right-click a video element or a URL that the extension recognises as a supported platform. If the entry is missing: (1) confirm the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions; (2) reload the page — the content script may not have injected yet; (3) check that the URL is from a supported platform (TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or Pinterest). If problems persist, click the Voqusa icon and paste the video URL directly into the popup.

Can I use the Voqusa extension alongside the platform-specific satellite extensions?

Yes, and the combination works well. The flagship extension handles right-click transcription across all platforms and manages your swipe-file library. The satellite extensions (YouTube Transcript Sidebar, TikTok Caption Tool, etc.) add platform-native UI enhancements — like a persistent sidebar on YouTube watch pages or a floating card on TikTok — that the flagship does not provide. Installing both does not create conflicts; they use different content-script injection points.
