How to Install

Open the Chrome Web Store listing for Instagram Reel Transcript by Voqusa (link above) and click Add to Chrome.
Confirm with Add extension. The extension installs within a few seconds.
Navigate to instagram.com and open any Reel or video post. A Transcribe button from Voqusa appears below the video controls.
If the button does not appear, reload the Instagram tab — the content script needs the page to fully load. If you are on the Instagram home feed, navigate directly to a Reel page (the /reel/ URL) for the button to appear.

How to Use

Go to any Instagram Reel or video post at instagram.com. Look for the Voqusa Transcribe button below the video controls.
Click Transcribe. If Instagram provides auto-captions, the transcript appears in about 2 seconds. For videos without captions, Voqusa's AI runs in the background and delivers the transcript in 5–20 seconds.
Review the transcript in the side panel. The hook (first line of speech), body, and CTA are separated by section headers.
To compare two Reels, click Open Comparison. A second column appears in the panel. Navigate to a second Reel and click Load into comparison — both transcripts display side by side.
Click Save to Swipe File to add the transcript to your Voqusa library, optionally tagging it with your niche and hook style.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I transcribe Reels from private Instagram accounts?

No. The extension can only transcribe Reels and video posts that are publicly viewable in a logged-in Chrome session. If you are following a private account and can view their Reel while logged in to Instagram in Chrome, transcription will work. Reels from accounts you do not follow and that are set to private are not accessible.

The Transcribe button does not appear on some Reels. Why?

Instagram's feed and Explore surfaces use client-side navigation that does not always trigger the extension's content script. For best results, open the direct Reel URL (instagram.com/reel/...) rather than scrolling through a feed. If the button is still missing on a direct Reel URL, reload the page once.

Does the comparison view work across different creators?

Yes, that is its primary use case. Open a high-performing Reel from a competitor in the first column, then load one of your own Reels in the second column. The side-by-side layout makes it easy to identify differences in hook length, vocabulary, and CTA framing. You can save the comparison as a single Voqusa swipe-file entry with both transcript bodies.

Are Instagram Stories supported?

Not in the current version. Stories are temporary and their video streams are structured differently from permanent Reels and posts. Stories support is on the roadmap for a future release. If you need to transcribe a Story, use the Voqusa web app at voqusa.com and paste the shareable Story link while the Story is still live.
