What is TikTok Caption & Transcript Tool?

TikTok Caption & Transcript Tool by Voqusa is a Chrome extension that adds a floating transcript card to every TikTok video on the TikTok web app. Beyond plain transcription, the tool automatically identifies the hook sentence (the first line of speech), highlights hashtags and call-to-action phrases within the transcript, and lets you export any number of transcripts to a CSV swipe file for offline analysis. It is designed for content creators, social media marketers, and strategists who study TikTok content at scale and need a faster way to extract the copywriting patterns that drive views.

Key Features

  • Floating transcript card on tiktok.com — appears automatically as you scroll the For You feed or visit any video page
  • Hook detection: the extension highlights the first sentence of speech so you can immediately see how the creator opens the video
  • Hashtag extraction: all hashtags found in the transcript are listed separately in the card for quick reference
  • CTA detection: phrases like 'link in bio', 'comment below', 'follow for more', and custom CTA patterns are flagged automatically
  • CSV export: export any selection of transcripts — with slug, hook, hashtags, CTAs, and full text — as a single CSV file ready for spreadsheet analysis

How to Use

  1. Go to tiktok.com in Chrome and browse your For You feed or navigate to a specific creator's video.
  2. The Voqusa card appears automatically next to the video. If TikTok provides captions, they load instantly. If not, click Generate Transcript — this uses one credit and takes 5–20 seconds.
  3. Review the hook (highlighted at the top of the card), the extracted hashtags list, and any flagged CTA phrases.
  4. Click Add to Swipe File to save this transcript to your Voqusa library. Add an optional note (e.g. 'strong hook — fear of missing out framing') before saving.
  5. When you have collected several transcripts, click the Voqusa icon in the toolbar and choose Export CSV. Select which saved transcripts to include and download the file.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the transcript card appear on TikTok in the mobile app or only on the web?

The extension works only in the Chrome desktop browser at tiktok.com. It does not run inside the TikTok mobile app. To transcribe a video you saw in the app, copy the video link from the TikTok app's Share menu and paste it into the Voqusa web app at voqusa.com, or use the right-click Transcribe with Voqusa option if you have the flagship extension installed.

Why is the hook detection sometimes wrong?

Hook detection uses the first sentence boundary in the transcript text. If a video starts with ambient sound, music, or a non-speech intro, the extension may flag a later sentence as the hook. You can manually select the correct hook text in the card and save it to your swipe file with the corrected designation.

The transcript card is not appearing even after a reload. What should I check?

First, confirm the extension is enabled at chrome://extensions. Second, check that you are on tiktok.com — the extension does not inject on other domains. Third, some corporate or educational network proxies block the Voqusa API call; if you are on a restricted network, try on a personal connection. Fourth, check the extension's popup for any error message about API connectivity.

Can I transcribe TikTok videos in languages other than English?

Yes. Voqusa's AI speech-to-text supports 80+ source languages including Spanish, Portuguese, French, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, and Thai — all languages with significant TikTok creator communities. Language detection is automatic. The CTA and hook detection patterns are currently tuned for English; non-English CTA detection is best-effort.

How many transcripts can I store in the swipe file?

Anonymous (not signed in) users can store up to 50 transcripts locally in the extension. Signed-in Voqusa users have unlimited swipe-file storage synced to their account. The CSV export works for both anonymous and signed-in users.
